Production Methods

Industrial hemp is a sustainable plant that offers both ecological and economic advantages. The production process begins with the planting of seeds and ends with the processing of the plant for various uses.

Planting: Hemp seeds are typically planted when the soil temperature reaches a sufficient level, usually in late spring. KENEVİRO adopts an eco-friendly approach by avoiding the use of pesticides and agricultural chemicals. Hemp can thrive with minimal water, making it possible to cultivate even in regions with limited water resources.

Growth and Care: Hemp is naturally resistant to harmful insects, minimizing the need for pesticide use. Additionally, its deep roots nourish the soil and prevent the growth of weeds. Due to its dense growth and rapid development, it doesn't allow the growth of unwanted weeds.

Harvest: Hemp is usually harvested towards the end of summer. Hemp grown for fiber production is typically harvested in August to September before the seeds mature, while hemp grown for seed production is harvested later, typically in October to November. This may vary depending on climate and region.

Processing: Harvested hemp is divided into fibers, seeds, and the woody core known as "hurds." Fibers are used in textiles and construction materials, seeds are used for nutrition and oil production, and hurds are used in the production of bioplastics, bioenergy, cat litter, and building materials.

End Products: Processed hemp is used in the production of various industrial products, including hemp oil, hemp flour, hemp-based plastics, hemp fiber, hemp bricks, hemp building materials, and more.

Industrial hemp is an essential part of sustainable agriculture and an ecological lifestyle. Hemp produced by KENEVİRO without the use of pesticides and agricultural chemicals offers both environmental and economic benefits and plays a significant role in the future of agriculture. With its low water and fertilizer requirements, hemp is an environmentally friendly and beneficial plant with high oxygen release, carbon dioxide absorption, and the ability to increase the yield of subsequent crops.

Agricultural Techniques

KENEVİRO embraces eco-friendly approaches and focuses on quality as a pioneer in sustainable agriculture of industrial hemp. The cultivation of industrial hemp should yield the best results through proper techniques and approaches while minimizing harm to nature and the environment. Here are some industrial hemp farming techniques used by KENEVİRO:

Organic Farming: KENEVİRO adopts organic farming methods that do not use pesticides and chemical fertilizers. This ensures plant and soil health, resulting in organic and environmentally friendly final products.

Water Management: Although industrial hemp is a low-water-consuming plant, KENEVİRO effectively manages irrigation systems to conserve water resources and prevent waste.

Crop Rotation: To prevent plant diseases and pests, industrial hemp is grown according to crop rotation principles. This enhances soil fertility and promotes better plant growth.

Soil Health: KENEVİRO employs soil analysis and appropriate fertilization practices to protect and improve soil health, ensuring better nutrient absorption by plants.

Seed Selection: KENEVİRO guarantees the highest yield and product quality by using certified NARLI seed varieties for which it holds a 10-year usage right.

Harvest and Processing: Industrial hemp is harvested and processed using high-tech agricultural machinery and techniques, ensuring the production of the highest quality hemp fibers, seeds, and hurds.

KENEVİRO combines sustainability and quality in industrial hemp farming, placing great importance on the preservation of nature and the environment. Industrial hemp cultivation is carried out with an eco-friendly and forward-looking approach, delivering the best products to both nature and end-users.

Quality Control Processes

As KENEVİRO, we prioritize quality as the highest priority in industrial hemp production. At every stage, from seed to harvest and the final product, a continuous quality control process is implemented. Here are the key elements of this process:

Field Selection: Field selection is done through contract farming and field leasing methods. Fields to be leased or used for contract farming are approved after passing through phased checks by agricultural engineers and the harvest team, and the process is initiated in this manner.

Seed Selection: The foundation for a quality product is laid from the very beginning. KENEVİRO uses high-quality and certified NARLI seed varieties for which it holds the rights for 10 years. This ensures the genetic quality of the plant and guarantees the quality of the final products.

Farming Techniques: Organic farming techniques are adopted in the process of growing the plant. Natural and eco-friendly methods are used to ensure the healthy growth of the plant without the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

Water and Fertilizer Management: Water management is implemented to efficiently use water resources and prevent waste, ensuring that the plant receives the required amount of water and preventing excess. Depending on growth and climate, the plant is given as much water as it needs, as it already requires less water compared to similar crops. Similarly, fertilizer preparation is done based on the specific needs of the field. Fertilizers are applied according to the region and field. In some regions and under certain planting conditions, hemp can even grow without the need for irrigation. Soil and field analyses are carried out as part of quality control processes. Quality control processes continue during field preparation. Planting is done by KENEVİRO or under KENEVİRO's supervision.

Harvest and Processing: Harvested industrial hemp plants are carefully selected and processed, separating fibers, seeds, and hurds (shiv) components to obtain the highest quality products.

Quality Control: Products go through a rigorous quality control process. The chemical composition, purity, residual substances, and other important parameters of processed hemp products are regularly tested. This ensures the safety and effectiveness of the products. Seeds are sown per acre according to germination rates. Subsequently, quality control processes are carried out through field/soil analyses. Quality control processes continue during field preparation. Planting is done by KENEVİRO or under KENEVİRO's supervision.

Product Variety: KENEVİRO offers a variety of industrial hemp products. Hemp oil, hemp flour, hemp-based plastics, hemp fiber, hemp cat litter, and more are produced in accordance with high-quality standards.

Our goal at KENEVİRO is to maximize the potential of industrial hemp in health, the environment, and industrial applications while providing our customers with high-quality products. Our quality control processes are one of the cornerstones helping us achieve this goal. We combine sustainability and quality for a healthy future.

Sustainability Practices

Sustainability has become one of the leading environmental and economic issues of our time. Industrial hemp stands out as a plant that offers effective solutions to this important issue. At KENEVİRO, we want to emphasize our contribution to the sustainability practices of industrial hemp.

Water Efficiency: Industrial hemp consumes less water compared to other crops. This ensures more efficient use of water resources. KENEVİRO prevents water wastage and conserves water resources by using irrigation systems wisely.

Reduced Chemical Usage: The use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers is minimized in industrial hemp farming. At KENEVİRO, we do not use pesticides or chemical fertilizers. The plant naturally resists insects and pests, eliminating the need for chemical usage.

Soil Health: Due to its deep roots, industrial hemp nourishes the soil and prevents erosion. Soil is improved between plant cycles, enhancing productivity.

Energy Efficiency: Industrial hemp efficiently utilizes energy. Hemp fibers promote energy savings in insulation and construction materials.

Biodiversity Conservation: Sustainable industrial hemp farming preserves natural habitats and supports biodiversity. Reduced chemical usage contributes to environmental balance.

Waste Reduction: Almost the entire industrial hemp plant is utilized during processing, minimizing waste. Products like hemp cat litter and bioplastics are also produced to reduce waste.

Industrial hemp emerges as a plant compatible with sustainability. KENEVİRO highlights these features to emphasize the environmental and economic benefits of industrial hemp. In taking this step towards a sustainable future, we value the role and potential of industrial hemp.

Additionally, we would like to emphasize that industrial hemp has been recognized as a valuable plant in achieving the EU's green goals. With its eco-friendly characteristics and sustainable farming practices, this plant plays an important role in reaching green objectives.
